"Sleep Well, Little Children" (A Christmas Lullaby) was composed by Leon Klatzkin and the lyrics were written by Alan Bergman in 1956.

It was recorded a handful of times since, and was included in the Reader's Digest Merry Christmas Songbook. One of my family members gifted the book to me in 1990, and I've played and sung songs out of it every year since then. It's a well-loved and well-worn song book, containing many familiar tunes, and some lesser known ones, such as this.

What I love about "Sleep Well, Little Children" is that it really captures the magic that children experience on Christmas Eve. It's a peaceful song with lovely sentiments, perfect to fall asleep to on Christmas night.
